The concept for this sandal was initially inspired by early greek sandal typologies and by Medieval European footwear ascetics. I later took these initial inspirations further by taking exploring elements and lifestyle attributes from contemporary subcultures, such as the emerging phenomenon known as quiet luxury/the old money aesthetic. I also took reference from luxury fashion brands that maintain the heritage look whilst adding a modern twist of character, which include Prada, Bottega Venetta and Aime Leon Dore.
